I stumble across this on the internet. I thought it was neat, but, I don't know who to give credit to.
Iowa Traction Electric Train
The first pictures are from the Iowa Traction electric train in Mason City, Iowa. It runs on "trolley wires" between Mason City and Clear Lake, about 9 miles to the west. I will be getting some more information on this train soon.
It takes a few wires to run this train...
One day while driving down the highway, I spied a train coming
my way. I jumped out and got these pictures. Yes, he did
blow his horn at me.

B.&.S.V.R.R.
Boone, Iowa brought a steam engine (JS8419) in from China. They now run this engine on a ten mile stretch northwest of Boone each weekend during the summer. They also have another diesel engine that they use to pull a dining car. They use this for special dessert trips and also dinner trips. It is called the Boone & Scenic Valley Rail Road. It is a very scenic route. It crosses the Des Moines river and also another trestle that I understand is 150 feet high. Here are a few of the pictures I took on our trip.

Algoma Central Railway Agawa Canyon Train Tour
This train tour leaves Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada and travels 114 miles to the Agawa Canyon. The ride is about 4 hours up, 2 hours to site see, then 4 hours back. There are a lot of trees blocking the view along the way, but many opportunities to see the beautiful lakes, mountains and streams along the way.
Boarding time at 7:00am.
A view of the engines from the window.
Rock cliffs next to the track.
A stream...
The hydro-electric plant next to one of the trestles.
A small lake along the way.
Beautiful.
